    Hi All,

    I have created a Test database on E:\sql drive by Sql server 2005 Express edition successfully,

    but when i modified the data file from E:\SQL to E:\ the following message displayed

    he file "data" has been modified in the system catalog. The new path will be used the next time the database is started.

    what it means.....i need to restart SQL services ?

    and is this happen only with Express edition ?

    Hi,

    You need to do the following steps

    1.First take the DB offline

    2.Move the files manually (E:\SQL to E:\ )

    4.Take the DB backup to online
