The KB955706 for SQL Express won't install

  • My system has been getting a lot of failures when attempting to install service pack 3 for SQL Server 2005 Express (KB955706). And occasionally it appears to successfully install, but then it will attempt to install it again and fail. What's causing these errors.

  • It is two months later, and I am still having problems with this. That stupid KB955706 will not install. Or perhaps it is installed, but for some reason Windows Update thinks it isn't installed and then it tries again.

    So here's some different questions. How do I determine whether or not SP3 for SQL 2005 Express is installed or not?

    Second, assuming it is installed, how do I stop KB955706 from trying to install itself again???
