Some of these are really good causes but there are some out there that I on a personal level have issues with in that they are owned by private companies. The cancer one I believe has a statement about this and that the data will be shared without cost but I on a personal level will not support these programs where that is not the case since they are using public time. Anyway I have a friend with the cancer one and I think this idea is really good.

Arent there even some that will pay you some small amount for the computer time you provide? I'll be looking into this a little more for a follow up, both for other uses and for the technical part of it - what I can understand anyway!

I have never heard of any that pay, but if you find let me know.

I have joined the United Devices Cancer program.
A team can also be created there. I did not created one for SQLServerCentral as it askes for description, homepage, and Team Logo. I didn't think that I could speak for this site. If some one does create a team, for the site then I will gladly join it.

Chuck, thanks for signing up! I'll try to get a team set up over the next day or so and post the # here.
