  Hello,

  The above error appears when performing an installation of SQL 2005 Standard edition on W2K3 SP1, with more than only the database server selected (for instance also selected reporting server).

  When only the database componentis selected, no SQL installation is performed.

  This happens on a MS virtual server 205 R2 with 768 MB memory defined. System configuration check indicates that the system is OK for the SQL when installing (except HW that gives a warning due to type of memory used).

   

  Any idea?

  Let's resurrect this thread.

  I was looking every everywhere for an answer... and I was surprised that my fav website didn't have it... So here it is for the next poor soul that have the same issue:

  Make sure the folder TOOL is the right size, it should be about 560 MB

  When I copied the folders over, I guess it didn't copy all that is needed.
