We here at a global <un-named> financial services company, are *still* upgrading to SQL 2005 (64 bit enterprise). I personally cannot see any benefit in upgrading to SQL 2008 - we were even offered free consulting by MS to be an 'early uptaker' of 2k8, but in the industry we're in, with MS's track record of bugs in new releases, our management decided that it was not worth the risk when you're dealing with billions of privately invested dollars. We definately need 2k5 to be supported for longer.

Please pass the word to MS, and vote for SP4. Let everyone know that this is important.

The age old topic... support support support..... We have apps that do not uspport SQL 2008 yet so we are stuck on 2005. It takes time when you buy software packages and implement them to have them support the latest Service Pack, then the app folks have to start a project, allocate time and do the dev, test, pqa and prod testing, checklists etc... One SQL 2005 we are still on SP2 because the apps versions do not support SP3. Heck, we still have some stuff on SQL 2000!
