I like Duvel, but like this one even more
I was in a bar in Leuven in Belgium (Cafe Amadee) and they had Trappist beer on draught from the monastery next door - it snuck up on me (it was 8% abv) and it was then I found that beer scooters work on the continent - I had been in Belgium (my first ever time) less than eight hours, and found my way back to my hotel unaided, but do not remember doing it!

Came across something different the other day: Crabbies spiced orange alcoholic ginger beer. I think I prefer it to their ordinary alcoholic ginger beer, at least when the weather is hot. It's on special offer at the local Morrisons just now.Don't know whether this beer has been around for a while or is new.
Picked a couple of these up for the trip to Wales, have to say not really that impressed by it in all fairness, much prefer the original. Think the next one to try will be the Crabbies black label at a slightly stronger 6%.
Its on the list for the next trip to Makro, just got to finish off all the Innis & Gunn's first.

The writeup is amazing. Meantime [/url]brew some great pale ales - I've had about three and all have been very good indeed. Unusual bottles, some of them - they look like champagne bottles, similar to some of the Trappist natural-yeast brews.

I've been drinking WestVleteren 12 lately, which has been re-elected as the worlds best beer this year.

I've been in Lanzarote for the last 5 months, apart from a few days in England in September and another few in November, so mostly I've been on wine. The rare times when I drink beer out here it's usually Guiness, but sometimes one of the local beers (because guiness is not a good tipple when it's about 30 degrees in the shade). I guess I'll be back on beer when I'm back in the UK (although the weather in the summer there tends to suggest that a good hot soup might be a better tipple) so maybe I'll post something here then.

I've been too inebriated on beer to post! :w00t::hehe::hehe:
My thought question: Have you ever been told that your query runs too fast?
My advice:
INDEXing a poor-performing query is like putting sugar on cat food. Yeah, it probably tastes better but are you sure you want to eat it?
The path of least resistance can be a slippery slope. Take care that fixing your fixes of fixes doesn't snowball and end up costing you more than fixing the root cause would have in the first place.

Morrison's are stocking a new Adnams ale, Ghost Ship. It's vaguely similar to the famous Thornbridge ales, Jaipur, Kipling and Wild Swan but a little sweeter. Lush even in our cr@p British weather. It will really come into it's own when we have our summer, one of the weeks in May.

I'm going to big up Sunny Republic:
Their American Brown Ale is among the nicest things I've drunk in a while. St Wites is good just not to my taste, I love the Beach Blonde as a session beer. I'm trying to persuade my local to get the Hop Dog in.
American beer is not all bad these days so I hear, I enjoy a Brooklyn occasionally.

I shall have to take a trip to Morrison's, usually an Asda shopper myself.

That's funny. I am on the West side of the pond and I avoid most American "beer" at all costs. Well there are tons of smaller breweries that make really excellent beers but I don't know how much distribution most of those get around the globe.
