On popular request - at least one! - a dedicated topic about beer.
I shall start with my favorite beer: Duvel.
It is of course a Belgian beer, as I am from Belgium and it's really the only thing we can be chauvinistic about.
The name is Dutch slang for "devil". Probably because it looks innocent with it's blonde look, but it's alcohol percentage can kick you right off your feet if you're not careful. 🙂
I welcome everyone to post their favorite beer as well, perhaps accompanied with a small explanation.
p.s.: anyone menioning Corona, Desperado or Heineken gets -10000 points 🙂

I have a good beer bread recipe if anyone want... 😉 :hehe:
Seriously though, I had the chance to visit a beer fest while in the UK, astounding variety. Here there's maybe 5 brands (including one that may not be mentioned)

I enjoy a 'Clausthaler' every so often. I bet I'm one of the few on this site.

Why not 🙂
In Belgium we have quite a lot of recipes with beer. Never heard one about bread though 🙂
One of my favorites is fish with apple and Duvel of course.

Guinness is my personal favorite. I have had hundreds and hundreds of different beers but none seem to captivate my taste buds as well as that dark creamy goodness. I also have a couple of buddies that brew their own. Now of course my true favorite is the one currently in my hand. 😀
I would say that the list of unmentionables could easily grow larger but I will leave the snobbery to the Belgians. 😉

Seriously good (and that's from someone who can't stand the smell or taste of beer). Next time I make it I'm going to add a handful of grated cheese and maybe a dash of paprika.

This one could be disqualified because it is a non-alcoholic beer, or "near beer" as we call it in the states. 😀

That is what we call American Lagers (Bud, PBR, etc...). You know, the ones you have to serve nearly frozen to cover the sweaty sock taste.

I typically drink Fosters, but that's because Belgian beer is not as easy to come by around here.
There is a microbrewery around here, named the Cheeky Monk, that serves a Belgian style beer - best beer I've ever had. Koen, you guys got it goin' on over there!

Como on guys, you ain't tasted nothin' until you've tasted this one.
My thought question: Have you ever been told that your query runs too fast?
My advice:
INDEXing a poor-performing query is like putting sugar on cat food. Yeah, it probably tastes better but are you sure you want to eat it?
The path of least resistance can be a slippery slope. Take care that fixing your fixes of fixes doesn't snowball and end up costing you more than fixing the root cause would have in the first place.
