Hi
I have just connected to one of my instances (2000 sp4) and have noticed that I am unable to view the databases or the managemnet folder. I have checked the application log which is saying "error 9002 The log file for the database tempdb is full. Backup the transaction log for the database to free up some log space"
My question is...Will restarting the instance (sql server service) clear the tempdb database and let me view the databases again.
Cheers

Hello,
Restarting the SQL Instance should help.
Then afterwards you can investigate the root cause of the issue e.g. if you need to re-size your tempdb’s log file.
May be take a look at this MSDN Article:-

Hi John
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I restarted the instance and I could see the databases again.
Thanks
