Good question Steve. I guess I need to update my installation documentation from SQL 2012. It seems to be for me that I go for years without doing any SQL server installs and then every so often have a large batch to do.

I have installed three new SQL Server 2016 instances this week, so this question was quick and easy to answer.

Not the most intuitive location for this information, but the "Install SQL Server 2016 from the Command Prompt" instructions lists the defaults of all the switches, including tempdb initial size/growth.
