Temp DB

  • Hi,

    one of my production server Tempdb Mdf file has increased 2GB with in 2 Hours on today morning.

    why it was happened? what are the causes for this?

    please share your thoughts.

    After it grew by 2GB, what was its total size?

    Its because of long running queries/reports/transactions..

    What was orginal size of tempdb and of the database.

    TempDB size is 10 GB.

    In that case, it sounds like someone made an accidental many-to-many query (ie, partial Cross Join that looks like an Inner Join).
