TDE using External Certificate

    Is it possible to use the Certificate which is available in the machine for TDE SQL server? if so how can we do it? Or is it mandatory to create certificate from the SQL server.?

    You may use a certificate from a specific provider, you will likely need to inform them what it will be used for.
