Surely the correct answer is "No" ?
Points please. (And no more remarks about wanting points that we should have been awarded please!)

I agree that the correct answer should be 'No' as the explanation confirms this but the correct answer doesn't. At first I thought I misread the question but after reading it several times I am convinced the correct answer should be 'No'.
That's what I thought at first myself, when the Sorry - you were wrong message showed up.
I'm assuming, though, that Steve will correct the question and award back the points. Just a bit frustrating...

This is the second incorrect answer two days in a row!
This phrase answers the question @ http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb934049.aspx
"Transparent Data Encryption and FILESTREAM DATA
FILESTREAM data is not encrypted even when TDE is enabled."
Pls award points back accordingly.

If the file stream does not get encrypted, why is the answer 'YES'?I want my points back............

Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is the probable reason so few engage in it.

I checked this on MDSN as I presume I'd been previously misinformed and note:
Transparent Data Encryption and FILESTREAM DATA
--------------------------------------------------
FILESTREAM data is not encrypted even when TDE is enabled.
The truth is out there..

Please do submit a QOD - and for your guidance read:
http://www.sqlservercentral.com/articles/SQLServerCentral/62764/
The Question of the Day is just what it's titled: a daily question about some aspect of databases or SQL Server. It's designed to be a learning mechanism with a bit of fun and competition built into it
Having had some 40 QODs published, let me alert you to a simple fact, that is, It is not easy.
And because of that I have a request .... Stop picking on Steve as excellent as he is, (proof - this site) he like the rest of us occassionaly makes an error. NOT a big deal, after all in answering the question you either tested your knowledge or learned something new. Hence QOD object achieved.
