So are these incorrect:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb934049.aspx
which states:
FILESTREAM data is not encrypted even when TDE is enabled.
And:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb933993(SQL.100).aspx
FILESTREAM data is not encrypted even when transparent data encryption is enabled.

Hi Ron,
these pages are correct.
Only the Answer & Explanation of this QOTD are paradox.
While the Explanation is correct, the Answer is wrong.

Glad I am not the only one questioning this, was pretty sure that filestream wasn't encrypted

I agree that the correct answer should be 'No' as the explanation confirms this but the correct answer doesn't.
 At first I thought I misread the question but after reading it several times I am convinced the correct answer should be 'No'.

I'm not surprised at the number of posts so early in the day.
I thought I had the correct answer...

Same here, I confidently clicked "No" and was shocked to be told "Yes"!
Further shock ensued when I read the explanation and the "No" answer was confirmed...

Unusual to had two dud QotD's in a row ...
At least there is very little point arguing about / discussing today's QotD.
