Hi All,
We are getting timeout errors from app servers after a firewall change was made. Please share you thoughts on this.
Here are the errors:
TCP Provider: Timeout error [258].
System.Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80004005): TCP Provider: Timeout error [258]. at ADODB.ConnectionClass.Open(String ConnectionString, String UserID, String Password, Int32 Options) ...
Environment:
SQL 2012 - 4 node cluster/Win 2K12

Sometimes the TCP\IP wasn't listening to SQL Server when the service is restarted. So disabled TCP and reenabled after service restart

Sql server restart was not made. There is only intermittent TCP errors from clients on DMZ. No errors on clients accessing from internal network.
