Hi All
TCP Provider: The specified network name is no longer available. [SQLSTATE 08S01] (Error 64) Communication link failure [SQLSTATE 08S01] (Error 64). The step failed.
Frequently while taking backup through jobs , I’m getting this kind of error ,
we are taking backup in CIFS folder and more over there is no problem in the network,
we haveing around 10 database, some are working fine , sone only making problem , and we are taking daily backup, some of the days only we get theis error,
Plz help me on this

Monitor your network statistics, latency for a a few days and see if its network related.
It could be a timeout issue as well.

The network connection between SQL Server & the backup shared directory is breaking from time to time. Ask your network administrator to check & resolve this.
How did you check that there is no problem in network ?

i Check with the team , the network connections are good, no chance to network fault
