When I right click the db in Ent. Manager sometimes I get the 'view' button and some times I don't?!?!
I am tryig to get to Task Pad view.

Is this 2000 or 7? Any other issues? Also, what version of client tools to you have?

My PC is running WIN2K and I am running Standard edition locally.
The servers are also running standard edition.
select @@version ...should give me accurate edition , right?
I have no other problems and if I click on it enough it will give me the task pad view.

Sounds like an install issue with EM if you can ultimately get it enabled otherwise I would say permissions. Try reinstalling just EM and see if corrects.

Silly, I know but when the View menu is not displayed, did you left click on the DB first? I found that if you don't click first with the left button, view menu is never displayed when you right click...thats SQL2000.
