I am running a Live SQL Server with full-text indexing on a Win 2000 member server. When I logged the processor time and user connections over a day, I noticed high peaks at the times that incremental full-text indexing occurs. I would like to reduce the priority of the MSSearch process and increase that of SQL Server in the task manager, but a worrying warning is issued which made me pause. Has anyone got experience of changing task priorities?

Have not had to so far. I could see trying to throttle the full text some, but I dont think I'd change the priority for SQL. Could be wrong! One way to find out!
