I always wondered: how much snow do you south-of-the-equator folks get in June, July, and August? 🙂
I read this article yesterday about spring training being around the corner!
Speaking of spring, a very confused robin has been hanging out in the tree in my front yard this past week. It apparently didn't get the memo that it's still only February!

It depends on where south of the equator you are. Here in Cape Town it never snows except on the mountains 50 kms east (up to 2000m high). Drakensberg in Natal and Lesotho gets quite a fair share of it. And every once in a blue moon it even snows in Johannesburg. And don't forget, New Zealand has its own Southern Alps with World Cup downhill races. Ah yeah, the South Pole is south of the equator too. 😛

Seriously, I have nothing against the Cubs. I wouldn't mind seeing them win one someday.
So, if I'm not mistaken, I believe Spring Training camps opened today!

For some reason, all I can think about is Wesley Snipes as Willie Mays Hayes doing his "I made the club" dance in front of the Spring Training camp! 🙂

As (1) a Korean-American, and (2) a Yankee fan, I'm happy about this acquisition. Did I mention something in one of my earlier posts about getting another set-up man for Mo Rivera?

Oh my goodness, do I. Unfortunately, like Markus, the weather isn't quite cooperating yet. Soon I hope. Tired of gray skies, snow and ice from three weeks ago still on the ground. One of the beautiful things is the anticipation that things WILL get better. The cardinals have returned (the birds not the baseball team) which is definitely a sign!

I caught a couple of innings of Yankee Spring Training games on TV this week.
Oh, to be in Florida now that Spring Training has arrived* . . .
(*my lame attempt to wax poetic)
