Johnson handled that a lot better than I would have.

Back? As in, back on the DL? 🙂
Where the heck did the Rays come from? Holy cow! Last I saw they were something like 7 games back and in third place and now they're 1.5 games back. They are 13 for 15 in the month of July, incredible. They are playing a series in Boston starting tonight, super important.

Yeah, that sucks. Was hoping to see Jeter play and climb the hit list. 🙁
Rockies are doing well, getting close to .500 and keeping the (worst) division competitive.

Giants are gonna need something like this if they wanna make the playoffs. Timmy's no-no was exciting though, kicked off tons of talk about what to do with him.

Seems like there is no dominant team in the NL West. It could be anyone except the Padres honestly. A hot streak could put any of the other teams in 1st place.

Just got back from watching all three games against the Cubs. Would have been more fun if the Cubs would have won more than one game, but I still had a blast.

Man, I haven't been here in a while! I missed this thread!
Thoughts on Ryan Braun?

Braun.... maybe take away his MVP award.... void his contract..... I don't know how much this will deter some.... he is still laughing all the way to the bank with his over 100 mill contract isn't he?
Basically for this he doesn't get paid for 50 or so games out of.. what... a 10 year high paid guaranteed contact and gets to keep his MVP.... seems like a slap on the wrist. Yea, there will be a media firestorm for the first few weeks of Spring Training and the regular season... but he will still be very well paid.

Man, every time I post in here I think "where's Ray?"
Braun, what a disappointment. Everyone gave him the benefit of the doubt and here we are two years later looking like a bunch of fools for thinking someone wouldn't lie like that... shame on us. The question I hear some talking heads ask is, why? Why is he suspended? Is it for the 2011 positive test that he appealed or is it being involved with the Bosch ledger? Has there been a definitive reason given as to why he has been suspended?
Latest news is MLB can consider a lifetime ban for A-Rod. [conspiracy theory] The Yankees are probably pushing for the lifetime ban on him. They'd get out of the last 4 years of their contract with an injured and aging player in the twilight of his years. They'd get him off their payroll without having to pawn him off on some other team (unlikely) and they wouldn't have to pay him [/conspiracy theory]
Boston beat Cano to the punch. They resigned Pedroia to a 7yr $100mil contract (starting in 2015). His contract runs through this year with a club option next year so they signed him two years early just so they wouldn't have to compete with Cano setting the benchmark for 2nd basemen. Cano will probably want a high dollar decade long contract, will be interesting to see who pays for it. Maybe New York will keep him if they can push A-Rod out the door.

I agree with you. I never understood why the Yankees signed ARod to a long term huge $$ contract when his numbers are declining and he was over paid based on performance at the end of the last insane contract. Not my money though.

A-Rod has appealed and Big Mo blows 3 saves in a row.
You guys see this? Hidden Ball Trick
Too funny, made me look up other occurrences of this trickery and I think it was Ozzie Guillen who got busted a couple times on pick-off attempts. Too funny.

Wow, 4,000.
I am so rooting for him to make 3k in MLB.

Agreed, I would love to see him reach 3000 mlb hits. Even if he doesn't, he'll be known as a hitting great.
I had the privilege of seeing him play when New York came to town for a spring training game, was great.
