It's stupid. Bonds belongs, whether you like him or not, whether you think he did steriods. He was an amazing player in Pitt, and came over to be an HOF worthy player in SF, well before he began to dominate the HR numbers.

Biggio, I think should be there, Martinez, probably. Not sure who else was on the ballot, but I think lots of those writers aren't really voting on incredible careers, but with emotions.

All of these will be dwarfed next year, Greg Maddux, Tom Glavine and Frank Thomas will be eligible.

Also, Mike Mussina (okay, I'm biased! :-))

  • I pulled up Frank Thomas's numbers and he only had 2,400 career hits... his best years were from '91 to 2000. He had some lost seasons with injuries. I guess I thought he had over 3,000 hits for some reason. Not sure he will get in.

  • Anyone ever been to Chase Field in Phoenix? I am going to be down there in April and try to catch a game, just wondering if anyone had a scoop on good places to sit there (besides in the swimming pool just past the outfield fence of course).

I've been. Sit anywhere. I walked all around the concourse and great views from everywhere. Not sure I'd do the pool, but I did enjoy the game.

  • Wow. Two Hall of Famers on the same day. Rest in peace, Earl Weaver and Stan Musial.

Thanks. It doesn't look like single game tickets are on sale yet, but I'm going to be there in early April when they play the Dodgers. Should be fun.

I walked up and got tickets while I was there. If you're past the opening weekend, you should be fine.

I'd get a cheap set and walk around. Wasn't close to crowded when I was there.

Sounds like when I went to a Tigers game back in the early 2000s' Tickets were cheap ($25/ea for right field near first base) and we could've sat down closer to the field if we wanted. Place was a ghost town...

I'll probably spring for a little more than the nosebleeds. The wife probably won't want to walk around much. Somehow I convinced her to include this in the honeymoon plans (don't ask me how).

  • Damn.

A-Rod, game take another severe hit with latest PED allegations

Only a week until pitchers and catchers report!

Which has been the most exciting point of the season for Cubs fans of late.

  • We've already reported, or at least a few people have. I missed the first practice, but I need to start throwing for sure.
