Sorry for your loss, seemed like you had it in the bag there for a while then it just fell apart. Let me ask you this, as a coach of a team in a social league, do you find it more important to win or to let everyone play?
Letting everyone play is definitely more important than to win. But we'll take a win as a bonus anytime π

Texas vs. St. Louis. Who would've thunk it?
Predictions, anyone? I'll say Texas in 6, although I'm rooting for St. Louis.

Yes, the win is always nice, but it's good to get everyone into the game. If I'm not mistaken, I believe International Little League rules require everyone to play at some point during the game.

bah. They're not bench warmers, they're clutch hitters in clinch situations!
I'll go out on a limb here and say St. Louis in 5 games.

Bench warmers? Nah, don't want anyone to be relegated to that role, that's my spot :-). Everyone plays, simple as that! Question: Is anyone of you guys actually playing/coaching? Steve, I know you play, but anyone else?
What happened this week-end down here at the club? U-12 lost at home coz they were fast asleep until the last frame, U-16 got their game cancelled coz opposition didn't have a team, us (the second/social side) didn't get to play either coz opposition pulled out of the league, so that left the 1st team at home. Six-all after frame 4 (only five necessary in lower leagues), but no runs brought in by Philippi Angels and our boys punished them for that, bringing in 7 more. Was kind of embarassing watching and still cheering. Anyhow, top of the league, well done guys!
Oh yeah, my bet is on Cardinals in 5 games as well.

Gonna be 6 or 7 games now.
Anyone see Pujols turn on that ball for the 3-run HR Sat night? As soon as he swung I told my wife "gone". I've turned on a few like that, though not hit them nearly as far.
Wish I could π

Ah, wish I could play. I always loved to hit, but I never was able to throw -- as I always used to say, "I throw like a girl." (My apologies to any ballplaying ladies who are reading this! ;-))
I used to play softball years ago, but it wasn't quite the same.
Maybe if the opportunity ever arose, I wouldn't mind getting into coaching. Unfortunately, free time is at a premium these days.

Closest I ever came to playing was being a bat-boy on my brother's pee-wee and bronco teams (5-10).
I don't know why, I just really like the game. It's quite the conversation when someone says it's "boring". hehe, we have a good talkin' after that.
Nothing like the sound of the crack of the bat!
Yeah, pesky Rangers. They just won't go down! Cards have to win two in a row now and take it a full series to win.

I know this is a couple of days late, but congrats, Cards!!!

Indeed, congrats to the Cards. I had mixed feelings, and watched the final game Fri night, wishing it were closer. Sad to see the Rangers implode, hitting two batters in the inning they went up when it had been a close series.

Friday night was an emotional night here in Dallas, but not nearly as much as Thursday. One strike away - twice. There was definitely a momentum shift on Friday night.
The Cards played well though. They certainly earned the title. Coming back from such a defecit is a testament to the never-quit attitude of the team.

A record 41 walks given up by the Rangers... I lost count of how many errors. Not a recipe for success on the biggest stage on National TV for baseball huh?
The phrase, 'It ain't over till it's over' certainly came true in game 6.

Yeah, I kept up with the series through sportscenter. Wasn't all that interested in the details of the game.
Grats to the Cards, they played hard and came back and won it from a wild card position. Let the off-season drama begin!
