I think we are starting to see that the Ray's are a force to be seen to make it to the playoffs. The Diamondback's have their backs to the wall at this point. Beyond that it is anyone's guess.

Let's review the post-season so far.ALDS
Detroit leads NY in the series 2-1.
Texas is up on Tampa 2-1
NLDS
Phillidelphia leads the Cardinals 1-1
Milwaukee up 2-0 over Arizona.
Favorites going into the season were Philly and Boston in the world series. How crazy would it be to see Milwaukee and Detroit vie for the championship? With Detroit, Texas, and Milwaukee all needing only 1 more win to move on to the ALCS/NLCS do you think they can clinch tonight?
Would you consider any of these wins as upset wins?
Unfortunately, no one will watch the WS if it is Detroit vs Milwaukee!

scolded if you get caught... hero if you steal and score the winning run. He was trying to be agressive.

The Rays have been playing out of their minds. I would never count them out; I don't care if they're down to their last strike in the bottom of the ninth. I think they are very capable of taking Texas to Game 5 and playing them close in Arlington. Even though the series is 2-1 Rangers, I still think it's a coin flip. Granted, if I had to make a pick, I'd say Texas (since they have the momentum right now), but I'm not counting out the Rays.
On the other hand, I also think my Yankees are in trouble. My gut feeling is that A.J. Burnett will pitch a good game tonight, but even if he gives up only one hit, Detroit is too good a team to keep down. As much as it pains me to say this, I'm standing by my prediction that the Tigers are going to the ALCS. (I'm also going to go out on a limb and say that Detroit is winning the AL flag -- I think they're better than either Texas or Tampa Bay.)
Haven't been paying as close attention to the NL series, but my quick predictions: Arizona is done (nice to see the Brewers playing well after spending all those years in mediocrity since Harvey's Wallbangers in 1982), and (like Texas-Tampa Bay) the Cards are capable of playing with the Phils, although I see the Phillies taking that series.

Woohoo! My Rangers are moving on. Hoping for a Yankees rally against the Tigers - I don't want us to face Verlander.

Jim Leland gave us an anti-Moneyball moment yesterday. His guys go out there in the bottom of the sixth, rippig CC with a pretty bunt single from Kelly followed up by a Peralta RBI double. One run in, man on second, in scoring position. How can Leland take the steam out of this situation? Have Avila sac-bunt him over to third. :w00t: Was it worth an out for a possible sac-fly score? Uh, probably not. Soriano comes in to pitch and gets the pop-up and strike-out. Peralta dies at third. Billy Bean laughs his *** off. (hmm. I was debating what Bean should laugh off. I see in preview mode that SSC decided that asterisks are the preferred expression)

Well, my Yankees are still alive! A.J. had a good night, and the Yankee bats blew it open in the later innings.
And, of course, the Rays were eliminated yesterday.
Shows you what I know about predictions! 🙂

Whew! Was watching the score on my phone while out with the family. Wasn't sure 4-0 was a safe lead, but when they got to 10 I figured they'd win.
Nice job, Yanks.

Sometimes, I hate it when I'm right.
It was fun while it lasted. We'll try again next year.

Congrats to the Tigers.
Didn't see the game, but sounds like lots of drama in there.

I had the game on in the background. There were too many missed chances. Too many at-bats where the Yanks had ducks on the pond, and they couldn't cash them in.
The Yankees need to learn how to play small-ball. They can't rely on the big hit all the time; it won't always be there. A great team knows how to win even when they're playing poorly.

We are getting closer to a Cardinals/Tigers rematch of 1968 and 2006!.... Could it happen for a third time? Still a long way to go but ya never know.
