Yeeee-haaaa!!!!!I just bought a pair of Yankee tickets for the end of April!!!
I have Friday, 4/29 circled on my calendar!!! :hehe:
We have tickets to two Red's games... but they are when the weather is like typical baseball weather. I went to a day game some years ago on May 1st in Cincinnati when it was 38 degrees... it was NOT fun.

I remember going to a Syracuse Chiefs game when I was in college. (At the time, the Chiefs were the Toronto Blue Jays AAA farm club.) I don't remember the temperature, but the wind was blowing, and it was frigid! It was like watching a game in Alaska!
(Of course, winter and Syracuse are pretty much synonymous!)

I hear ya Ray. Yesterday the Cleveland Indians played their AAA team here in Columbus and in the second inning it started snowing and they called the game in the third inning. NOT baseball weather.

Sunny and 70 in California! (just to rub it in =p)
Too bad the Giants weren't so hot.

Snow out in Colorado. It was 70+F on Saturday and then a snow-out Sunday.
Gotta love Colorado. Course, I'm happy since it means I didn't miss the first game for the old men playing around town.

Who knows how long this will last, but my Rangers are clobbering all comers! Haven't made it out to a game yet (and probably won't, until after SQL Rally next month), but it looks to be another exciting season here in Texas.

Rangers look good, Rockies in first place, and Yankees playing well, despite getting shut out last night.
Looks like we have some teams roaring ahead out of the gate, others really struggling (Rays).
However it's a long season. Win 60, lose 60, it's what you do in the middle that matters.
We had our "opening day" yesterday, getting killed 15-0 in a miserable windy, cold day. 0-2 for me, but a couple good plays in the field.

The Giants are right about where I figured they'd be, although the rest of Giants land thinks since they won last year it should be a lock for this year. I have to keep reminding people they barely made the post season, beat a wounded Braves team and caught fire at the right time. This year's team is a bit better (with a more experienced young pitching staff) but not by much. It wouldn't surprise me if they get bounced early in the post season (or didn't make it at all). I will be surprised if they repeat.

Looks like some good pitching performances in the early going. A.J. Burnett seems to have shaken off last season, and Ivan Nova and Bartolo Colon are looking pretty good. Now if only Phil Hughes can get his act together.
Hey, who was that guy for the Florida Marlins who took a no-hitter into the eighth against the Braves last night?

I think Josh Johnson was pitching for Florida last night. Very solid starter....

Man, this thread's too quiet!
Went to the big ballpark in the Bronx on Friday night, and had a great time!
Would've been a better time had my Yankees won! Oh well.

Josh Johnson pitched Saturday against my Reds.... They were saying he had not given up a single hit in any of his starts for the first three innings... so batters were 0-45 until the Red's got three hits off of him through the first three innings. He was not as dominate as his first 5 starts but he still only gave up one run.
The Marlins have some very good young talent there is no doubt about it.

Not a good game for the Rockies yesterday, but still doing well. I haven't been to a game yet, but the 11th has an afternoon game v the Mets that I might head down to.
Glad you got to the new stadium, Ray. I hope to get there at some point.
