How many players have been traded from one team to another in which both teams went to the World Series in the current season
Lonnie Smith was traded from the Cardinals to the Royals in 1985 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lonnie_Smith#Kansas_City_Royals), helping KC win the 2nd ever 'Show Me' Series http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1985_World_Series.

I've definitely been neglecting the forums here for a while. This thread has really exploded since last I visited. I'm adding my comment to get back in the loop.
Difficult to fathom that my Rangers finally made it to The Show. They dropped a tough game last night, but I feel good about our chances in the remainder of the series. It's been a long time coming.

So, the Giants take the first two games in emphatic fashion.
Any thoughts for the next three (if it goes that far) in Arlington?

Hard to say. Being a Rangers fan, I envision a sweep here, but that's admittedly tainted 🙂
It's such a mental game, and many of these kids - and I mean kids, as we've got lots of under-25 and several key players in their early 20s - have never been on a stage this big. I'm expecting that we'll take at least two at home, due in large part that we got the jitters worked out in SF.
I'll be at the game on Sunday (game 4) so hopefully my cheering will contribute to a win!

I've felt that way a few times over the years when it's 2-0, but I think Texas wins at least one, maybe two this weekend.
I have no horse in the race, but enjoyed the first game. Didn't see the second. Looking forward to some nasty pitches and hard hit balls.

:discuss: So . . . do the Giants take the Series tonight, or does it go back to San Francisco?

Back to SF. I have some confidence that those Texas boys will hit tonight.

I think it ends tonight, despite Cliff Lee and the Ranger's bats. The Giants finished both previous series away from SF....it's all about the particles:

The Rangers will keep things interesting. Winning it all may be another matter....Ray, what's your take?

I agree. The Rangers didn't make it this far by accident, and I don't see Cliff Lee losing two in a row.
The rest of Texas' rotation hasn't been too shabby, either, but the Giants seem to have their number.
I think Cliff Lee shuts the Giants down tonight, and the Giants take Game 6 out in 'Frisco to win the Series.

Congrats to the Giants. I saw the 3 run shot in a restaurant last night and I knew then that the Rangers were done.

Yeah -- this getting up while it's still dark thing is for the birds! 😛
Can't wait for Daylight Savings Time to end this weekend!
