Make it fun above all. I agree with Ray, and I think a mix of fundamentals and fun is best. Don't worry about seriousness, or anything fancy. I'd make sure they can catch, throw, and hit, but build drills that are fun and make them smile.Be a little silly.
Thanks Steve, that's what I tried yesterday. All went off well, the nervousness totally dropped away once the kids were on the field.
I'm glad our season is over for now. I need to work on my back for next year. too many chores and getting older make that swinging thing tough.
Maybe you should just stop digging in poles and fences and whatever other hard labour you are performing out there at The Ranch? Leave that to the Juniors and enjoy your baseball instead!

Anyone else dreaming of a "white World Series". Twins are the first...

It took me a few minutes to realize what you were talking about! I must need coffee more than I thought!
I can see it now. "Twins vs. Rockies in the Snowbound Series!"

Some days I think that's true. Actually, what I need to do is work more often, but less. Putting in 10+ posts in a day and then trying to swing a bat doesn't work.
It's not all bad. I like playing the field more, and I got a few games at 3B last year, and enjoyed that. Even turned 2 double plays in a game.

A white WS is possible, but it seems the Rockies are looking to get really close and then fade. Lost to the AZ boys last night.
When the WS was here a few years ago, it was chilly, but no snow. More than likely that there wouldn't be snow. We actually don't get a lot of snow in Denver.

10 games left and the Rockies are 2 1/2 out of first.... with two teams to climb over... not impossible... but very, very difficult.
Looks like my Reds will win the division and go into the playoffs for the first time since 1995.
Yankees putting some space between them and the Rays now too.

I think the AL is pretty much set. Yankees, Twins, and Rangers as the division winners, with the Rays as the wild card.
I agree about the Rockies. 2.5 GB isn't impossible, but when you have to climb over two teams to do it, that tends to be daunting. Their best bet would probably be to play for the wild card, and hope the Braves go into a tailspin.

Well, the Rockies are out of it.
Congrats to the Reds, and Mr. Suzuki. He is amazing to watch. I wish I could hit like that. I certainly could use the first step moving to first.

Yankees rally to beat Red Sox 4-3 in 10 innings
Was lying in bed and falling asleep with the game on when the Yanks won. I was so out of it that I only vaguely remember the bases-loaded walk to end it.

The Red's magic number is 1.....
Looks like the AL East and the NL Wild Card will go down to the last few games. The Giants and the Padres finish the season this weekend.... it could go down to the very last day.

FINALLY my Yankees clinch! (Although first place in the AL East is still up for grabs.)
I have to admit that our starting pitching has me worried right now.

Red's win the division with a walk off home run in the bottom of the 9th to break a 2-2 tie. First time in the playoffs in 15 years... Yahoo!
