So this Saturday, I'm speaking at SQL Saturday #912 down in NYC.

Of course, what else is going on in NYC this weekend? Games 1 and 2 of the ALDS! Can we say, opportunity knocks?

Last night, I bought a ticket to Game 1! So I'll be at Yankee Stadium on Friday!!!

Does anyone actually like the "3 hitter rule"? I can't imagine it will affect the game length much, but it seems like it can have serious implications for rosters. Given how inconsistent pitching can be sometimes, if there's a night that a reliever just doesn't have "his best stuff" I could even see it slowing down a game at times.

I'm reserving judgement until I see what happens in games. On the one hand, game strategy is one of the big reasons why I'm a fan, but on the other hand, I do agree that it gets a bit ridiculous when a manager keeps wasting his bullpen, not to mention time, by having a pitcher throw to only one hitter.
