Well, we're doing our best!  Let's go Yankees!!!

The next game is going to be interesting.  Back in Ohio....  give a slight edge to Cleveland..... PLEASE turn their lights out for the season!!!!

  • Thank You Yankees for finishing off the Indians... come back from having their backs to the wall and they won 3 straight games.

  • Being a Tiger fan, I don't care for the Indians or the Yankees.  But having to hear the idiotic John Sterling "Yankees Win" again makes me sad that New York advanced to the ALCS.  Go Houston!

  • Glad to see the Yankees win after the Rockies lost. I was cooking dinner and saw a "listen" button on the ESPN app. Out of curiosity I clicked it and surprisingly, I could listen to the last few innings. Was exciting to hear the pitch by pitch on the radio. Hadn't done that in a long time.

  • The MLB TV subscription costs about $120 per year and gives you live access to all TV and radio for all MLB teams for all games EXCEPT your local team's TV broadcast and national game broadcasts (read: playoffs).  Local games are delayed aprox. 4-5 hours until after completion.

The exception is a big caveat if you want to watch your local team, but if you live outside your team's natural marketing area, it is great.  It is also good, for going back to watch an event (no hitter, strange play, brawl, ...) in a certain game, certain inning.

I've enjoyed flipping through the games -- ooh, Kershaw's pitching, I'll watch an inning or two of the Dodgers.  That game is in the 12th inning, I'll take a look at that game.

MLB has an app for phones, Kindle, IPad, Roku, ... to watch/listen to games. -- very handy.

Speaking of radio calls, baseball and radio work well when you are doing something else (driving, mowing the lawn, ...)  The pace of the game allows you to be doing other things, while still following the game.

  • I didn't subscribe. I just have the basic iOS ESPN app. That's what surprised me. They had the audio available.

I recently saw that too, and I wish I'd seen it earlier.  I used to have a subscription to the MLB radio feeds through my Yankees Universe membership, but I let it lapse this season, so I assumed that I no longer had access.  Had I known earlier that this was an option, I would've listened to more day games, which I sometimes do while I'm working.

  • Not having a dog (or cub) in the fight other than thinking that the Nationals vs Dodgers would make a good NLCS, that game last night had a little bit of everything and a lot of excitement.

  • I'll admit that, speaking as a Yankee fan, I'm a little biased, but I would love to see a Yankees vs. Dodgers World Series.  Just like old times!

Having said that, I'd certainly pull for the Astros if they beat us -- if there's a city that could use a good morale boost, it's them.

  • Congrats to the Cubs. Missed the game, but heard it was exciting.

As long as the Yanks make it, a good series is coming. I guess the Astros would do well, but lack some of the history. I think Yanks/Cubs or Yanks/Dodgers would be fantastic, though I'd learn towards the former.

Have a look if you haven't seen this https://www.mlb.com/video/extended-cut-contreras-pickoff/c-1863001483. 9-8, nobody warming up in the bullpen, Nats with back to back hits - guys on 1st and 2nd, Davis out of gas struggling to get that last out, a 2-1 count...  Then Contreras  with the lifeline getting us out of a tough inning. Very exciting stuff.
