Don't know how many of you are aware of this, but former major leager Doug Glanville writes a series of articles for the New York Times[/url] about his perspective about life in the major leagues.
If you haven't read his stuff, I highly encourage you to do so! They are a great read!

I like baseball, but not addicted to it. There is only so much time in the day so I have to pick and choose what i do. I would much rather play than watch.

Dodgers are in town and that has sparked quite a bit of talk about the McCourt divorce
7 mansions and the whole circus.

1 million per month is more than they earned as a couple per month over the last ten years. Poor desolate woman.
One of the houses is strictly for laundry. Another is for excess furniture.
Novel idea - sell the furniture and houses.

I'm not sure I fault her for wanting her share of the marriage. Both of them are a little silly, however, as are many of the demands athletes make. They're already set for life.

She is getting 7 houses, a lake, and he offered 185k/month (1.8 million a year). I think it is a bit selfish to demand more. And I feel he is being extremely selfish too.
It is a case in point of them having become comfortable in their lifestyle and not wanting to give it up.

Frankly at this point it appears to be a lot more about emnity than anything else. This is, after all, a high-profile divorce that they're conducting via the press. Ick.

Agreed on the enmity. The media is giving them so much pub right now, I think they enjoy it.

Opening day . . . Boston 9, Yanks 7
As a baseball fan, I was pleased. As a Yankee fan, I was disgusted.
Oh well. One down, 161 to go.
