Table Partioning in SQL Server 2000/2005

  • Hello,

Can anyone please highlight the differences in implementing the table partioning in SQL SERVER 2000/2005. Whats the difference in the ways we implement it both the versions.

    Thanks

  • Easy enough.

There was no table partitioning in SQL 2000. It's a new feature in 2005, available in Enterprise edition.

What SQL 2000 had was partitioned views, views whose source query unioned together multiple separate tables.
