Bump. This one is open for anyone again. Wayne decided not to tackle it.

Hi Steve,
The final solution that was provided by the poster would run extremely slowly when dealing with larger row counts and a simple way of avoiding this can be implemented that has practical uses in optimising complex queries in general.
I would be happy to explain with examples.

Claire,
Please feel free to tackle it. If I don't hear something in about a month, I'll bump this topic.

Hi Steve,
As it's my first article for you it took longer than I expected to format and load onto your system. I still couldn't get the colours from my code to remain, any thoughts?
Just writing to let you know it was sent yesterday and I know it takes a couple of weeks to process.
Many thanks,
Claire
