  • Keeping in mind the developers.

    Keeping mind the poorly written SQL and network issues.

    I am looking for references to Best Practices while writting Structured Querry Langauage.

    Ex: Why to not use cursors, How to avoid them ?

    using HINTS in Qurries.

    wise usage of where caluse.

    What ever.

    I am looking at TSQL and PL/SQL.

    thanks a bunch experts.

    I dont care if it is a in depth discussion or over view. I will do teh refining part. Thanks

  • Best thing you can do is pick up a copy of Itzik Ben-Gan's Inside SQL Server TSQL Querying. Make all the developers read that. That'll do more positive than any suggestion on how to avoid cursors will do for you.
