System Running Low On Virtual Memory- REPLICATION

  • Greetings,

I am running replication on a Tablet PC using Windows 2000 with SQL 2005. I get the following error at the end of Replication:

The merge process could not allocate memory for an operation; your system may be running low on virtual memory. Restart the Merge Agent.

I already tried increasing the virtual memory size and I still get the same error. The tablet PC is running 512 MB or RAM, should I bump it to more memory?? Do you think this may be a hardware issue??

Please if you have a suggestion or better yet a solution, please help!

    Thanks!

    Cristian E.

  • It's a hardware resource issue. I would suggest bumping RAM up to at least 3 GB. Otherwise, it's like pulling a horse trailer with a moped.
