I have a SQL server 2008 which came into existence in 2011.But master , model and msdb databases have their own startup dates(date created).
The dates created are 2003 , 2003 and 2008 respectively. How is this possible. Can someone please explain this.
I believe tempdb will carry the date when the server was last restarted on.

That's when those databases were created. By Microsoft. Not by you.
Copy a database from one server to another, and you still get the data it was created on the old server. Same thing.
