system database cannt see while connected remotely

  • Hi,

    I am new on SQL server 2005 and have recently installed SQL server 2005 dev edition. Installation was successfully completed. now, i am trying to connect that server from remotely it is connecting fine but i can only see user database. Not sure why? Can anyone tell me about my problem.

  • Permissions is always the first place to look.

    Are you logging in as the same user that you use when not remote?

    I presume you could see all that you wanted when you installed SQL?

    In SSMS open options under the tools menu. Under Environment>General check if the option "Hide system objects" is selected.

    I unchecked that check box and restart SSMS and i can see all the system databases.  Thanks again!!!
