Suspect Database

  • Hi All

Yesterday , One of our database goes in suspect mode at 11:00 AM Morning

& we have night 9:00 PM Full Backup of previous day only.

    Recovery Model is Full

I know repair allow data loss can repair database but how to recover data deleted ?

    Thanks

    Ghanshyam

  • Do you backup the transaction log? If so, can your restore to point in time just prior to event? If not, then i'd argue it must be because a certain amount of data loss is acceptable, else log backups would be in place

  • Ok, first thing that we need to do, before anything else, is work out why the database is suspect. Can you have a look through the SQL error log, find all the messages relating to this database around the time it went suspect and post them here.

Do Not run a repair at this point. That's the last resort, should all other potential solutions fail.

Do you have backups of this database? Do you have an unbroken chain of log backups for this database?
