When we write a post, the options for subscribing to it are supposed to be able to be set once and that becomes the default for the user. It doesn't work (not really). I have switched mine to "Do not subscribe" and yet I'll create a new post and I am subscribed with Immediate Notification.
The issue is how the choice is 'stored'. It appears to be stored in the user's computer cookies and if the history is cleared, the person's choice is reset to "Immediate notification....".
Instead of storing the choice in cookies, could this be changed to be part of the user's profile?

Possibly. I'm short of developers now, but I'd like to have this set as a default somewhere. We argued about it and people seemed to prefer this as a cookie since most people use one machine to access forums.

It's just a suggestion as it's a pain for me....I use at least 4 computers to view this website and I clear out the history on a daily basis so my cookies don't last.
If everyone else is happy with it the way it is...then I guess I'll live with it.
But thanks for considering it....
