subscriber is not able to get the data

    Dear All

    I have 2 seperate sqlservers.one has sql 2000[subscriber] and other has sql2005[publisher] and pull subscription is using.both servers are on LAN.

    Snapshot replication is taking place. entry in hosts file hs been done.

    Yet subscriber is not able to get the data.

    Error:

    The process could not connect to Distributor 'AJAYG'. NOTE: The step was retried the requested number of times (10) without succeeding. The step failed.

    Hi,

    This error message says that the process can not connect tothe distributor. Where is your distributer? Is it on the same machine as the publisher?

    Thnx for showing interest...

    As pull subscription is using so distributor will be on suscriber side...Isn't it?

    Yes, the Merge and Distribution agent run on the Subscriber with the Pull subscription

    I guess you don't have Merge agent because you specified Snapshot replication. Did you when answering the New Subscriptio Wizard specified the Distributor in any window?

    The error message that you posted says "The process could not connect to Distributor 'AJAYG'" What computer is 'AJAYG', is it your 2000 subscriber or 2005 publisher?
