I typically read seven specific forums on a daily basis here; 3 from SQL2005 and 4 from SQL2000. I also scanned the active topics fromt he previous site's model as well.
By Subscribing to the Forum, instead of specific topics, I can keep abreast of questions and follow ups a lot better.
I like this feature most of all with the new site's model.

Lowell... if you're not talking about the RSS feeds, what are you talking about and how do you do it? That would be great if I knew how...

got to any forum. Upper right corner has a link to click "Forum Options"
first popup link says "Subscribe to Forum"
next page allows you to change to get instant email notifications. You get one for every post or reply. That's what i like; I get an email for every "SQL 2000 Administration" posting , which might get annoying on a busy day, but hey.
To modify it:
Go to "Control Panel" if you've logged in.
in the bottom left navigation is "Forum Subscriptions" and "Topic Subscriptions", where you can remove them as desired.
