Assumption here is that we're all on SQL2017+ for this to even work. But yeah, took them long enough to add this doozy to the built-in methods.

There isn't a correct answer for this - SQL Server 2016 does not have TRIM, it only has RTRIM and LTRIM. TRIM was first introduced in SQL Server 2017 and the question specifies SQL Server 2016 column.
