Strategy for Archiving Data

    Hi,

    We are using SQL Server 2000 and I was wondering what is the best way to Archive Data. We have lot of client data which can be stored and is not currently being used. This happens with clients who push back the Go Live date. Any bright ideas or suggestions are welcome. Plz suggest some strategies we can adopt.

    From the technical point of view if you have a database per client then you may detach these databases and keep database and log files and also database backups on the tapes or DVDs or move them to the SUN storage.

    From the management point of view you must have an agreement first with the clients reflecting how you should keep databases that they are not currently using. Some agreements may include clients keeping their databases.
