Our users use views to access our dbs, then an ODBC link to export data to other packages for analysis. By default when saved these views show in EM as owned by their NT username. Sometimes users are finding ODBC links to some (but not all) software packages failing with errors suggesting they lack the correct permissions to the views. If they recreate the view, the link works but the view saves as showing it is owned by dbo. So do all subsequent view saves.
This has happened to 3 users so far over a period of several months. In all cases we DBAs swear we've done nothing that could have caused it. Has anyone any idea what's going on here?
Any help welcome - Peter

when creating the views you MUST specify an owner to get consistent ownership-chain.
Therefore you either type "dbo.viewname" when creating those or make the creator of the viwes the database owner ( notice that is different from being member of db_owner group)
