Strange Login Failure

  • Thanks for all help.

I have made the SQL Server a domain controller, as noeld suggested, which has solved my immediate issue.

At some point, I will rebuild this SQL Server, or build a new one, and test the idea of scripts with "net use" commands that mharr suggested.

  • I could be wrong, but my guess is that your DSN is defaulting to named pipes.  Change you cliconfg.exe to default to TCP/IP.

  • Curious.  Is the Admin password on WS2 and WS1 the same?

Could WS2 have the same Admin password as SS Admin?  I know it is not secure, but sometimes it happens.
