storing fingerprint infomation

    Hello every-one.pls i need help on this.i have been ask to design an sql database that will store fingerprint information and also pictures of employees an organisation.now the problem is in what format does the fingerprint store its information.is it in images or that. cause i need to creat a table that will store the information and that of the employee. Thank you in advance for your help

    Hello Damian,

    I am going to turn your question around.  What file format will you receive the fingerprint?  What file format will the pictures be in?  Depending on the size and complexity of the files, it may make sense to store the files in the file system and store paths in the DB.

    There used to be a sample application in the Microsoft developers studio that does exactly what you describe.  I think it was still there in Dev Studio 6.  I have not looked in .Net.

    Hi Wayne,

    Thanks for the advice.its going to be in an image format as in grayscale format.i think its jpg. How do i store the path in the DB.
