Hi,
MSSQL 2000/SP3; Enterprise Manager
I've noticed that there are stored procs (approx 30), beginning with dt_xx. They are defined as "user" not "system". On some db servers, they exist in the model database, and on other db servers, they don'y exist. I understand why newly created databases inherit these and other databases do not, but what are these? Are they needed? What permissions are required to use them? Can I remove them from the model db? I also heard that they get created dynamically?
Example: dt_checkoutobject; dt_getobjwithprop; dt_setpropertybyid; dt_whocheckedout_u ... etc
Many thanks. Jeff

They are used by the diagram editor in EM.

yup. Database Diagram Editor. If I remember correctly they do not exist in the database when it is created. The are created "auto-magically" when you first launch the Database Diagram Editor.
