I have Backups setup thru Maintenance plans; how can I prevent SQL to write to the SQL and event logs every time it succeeds; I have about 200 DBs and keeps filling up the Application Event Log and besides it is making harder to read the SQL logs.
Thanks.

There's a "Reporting & Logging" button on the tool bar. You can uncheck "Generate a text file report". Or, if you want some reporting, leave it checked, and create a Maintenance Cleanup Task to delete reports after X days.

In 2008 there's a trace flag (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms188396%28SQL.100%29.aspx) to stop those messages. Not sure there's a way in 2005.

Trace flag referred to by Steve should work in 2005 as per http://www.mssqltips.com/tip.asp?tip=1457
