Hi all
Ive done a bit on testing on my ss2k sp2 databases with updating stats, usage and reindexing, every time, a % of the tables produce an inaccurate count of the actual total number of rows in sysindexes. I am very confused with this as I thought the counts would very accurate so as the optimiser can take due action when building execution plans. Ive cheated a little when rowcounting tables in some of my databases you see but as I cant rely on sysindexes, i now resort to using count(*)'s. Thoughts on this?
Cheers
Ck
