"Starting Up Database {DB_Name}" Log Message

    I am working with a SQL 2000 Server, running SP3. We are having major issues right now with excessive Disk I/O operations (even with few users). I am noticing something disturbing in the SQL Logs. Once starting up SQL Service, there are non-stop log messages for "Starting Up Database {DB_name}". I've never seem this before (besides the initial startup when you start the service).

    Any ideas?

    Notes: We have about 120 databases, are running OLAP, and the server is accessed by MS Project Server.

    Use sp_dboption to verify your database options whther 'auto close' is enabled.
