With the SSMS 2k5 installation on my desktop machine I can start jobs on our database server by right clicking and selection 'start job' but for some reason this option does not appear for other SSMS 2k5 installations on other servers. I have also found that this option does not appear in SSMS 2k8 on my desktop machine either. It's not even greyed out, it just doesn't appear
The only option I can select is 'Start job at step' which does run the job but does not do so silently in the background as does the 'Start job' option.
Does anyone know why this option is not appearing for some SSMS installations? Is there any way that I can get it back?

I'm pretty sure that it's depending on the SP which is installed for the client tools.
On all my machines you only get the "Start Job at Step" option, but all of them are on SP2.

I am using SSMS 2008 GUI, I see "Start Job at Step..." for both SQL 2008, 2005 SP1, 2005 SP2 servers, so looks like it's in the GUI side
However, it starts the job right away if there's only 1 step
If there are multiple steps, another window will pop up allowing you to pick a step to start (not necessarily Step 1)
