Is it possible to dynamically pause or stop replication while publishing changes to the database being replicated, and then restart replication once changes are deployed? If yes, could you provide script example?

I have taken a Merge Replication subscriber database offline to move datafiles while the snapshot was being applied, and once bringing the DB back online and restarting the Synchronization job on the subscriber, it continued where it left off.

Hi All,
I configured the Transactional replication for one Article i.e SQL Table that has 1.5 million records and nearly 100 columns. So now i want to split 100 column to 50-50 with two tables(A and B) and each has a primary key. So at last i configured but all the records are going to one table i.e A.. So Please suggest me how to do this. Appreciate your help..Thanks in advance

In the Log-Reader Agent section... is there any effect on having the database set up as "simple log".. I am getting a sinking feeling that the log reader would not capture all the changes before the log dropped them.

if you are needing a Pull.. is there a way to tell when the data is now up to date, so that other jobs can now run? (that process the new data)
