Comments posted to this topic are about the item Stairway to MDX - Level 12: : MDX Time/Date Series Functions: OpeningPeriod() and ClosingPeriod() Functions

I'm finding this confusing as you seem to have chosen a measure that can be added across the days. Especially so as the first of the month was so high. These functions would seem to be better used with semi-additive measures such as inventory numbers or account balances. Am I missing something? If so, please clarify. Thanks,

Sorry for any confusion. You could technically use either function to accomplish either purpose you mention. I chose to stay away from semi-additive, as it would have added a further complication to what is intended as a very basic introduction to several Time / Date functions. I do intend to revisit this when I take up semi-additive scenarios later in the series ... these functions will then be re-examined in that context (no pun intended ... 🙂 )
Thanks for reading! Feel free to contact me directly if I can help further.

Thanks for the article. It does seem a bit over the top but nice work.
